New media and mediums allow us to simultaneously imagine new paradigms of society and obliterate stagnant convention, affording a multitude of possibilities in design and discourse. In this course student visionaries will master the radical potentials and affordances that new media and mediums create for architecture, urban design, and the built enviornment at large. We will explore different channels of discourse, identify new publics, and alternatives to traditional modes of practice and presentation. Mediums to be explored through workshops and modules include websites, social media strategies, zines, mini-models, and more. The course will culminate in a series of printed Strathmore sheets to be set on a wall for the consideration of 4 established practitioners and academics.
